Usually during power outages, but fortunate enough in most places I lived to have a back up. Wood, propane fireplaces or wood fireplaces, depending on the house.
Probably during an ice storm.
you are talking to the bloke who went without power for a freezing weekend and when the engineer arrived – something had fallen and clicked the master switch to “off”. I don’t know which glowed more – the boiler when he turned it on – or my face….
Was it a pink or an orange glow?
A few days of love,romance and adventure – all set as soon as we arrived. We turn up to a cold house which should have been very warm on entering to find there was no water pressure in the boiler. and thus no immediate romance.
