A very old dresser was cleared out 3 days before the bin men were due to come and collect. It contained about 50 years of newsletters magazines and posters collected from the 1940s – 1960s and all were put in a bin bagand left outside
A staggering amount of local area history went to the tip. Dresser joined it 3 years later.
Had a jewellery box filled with real stuff and cosmetic baubles. We were packing as we were moving house and all the boxes got stacked up to take or to to go in the rubbish you can guess which box got mixed up with the rubbish
Its amazing what some people think is rubbish and what is not unfortunately while clearing out this old ladies house a lot of her stuff just went straight to the tip only to find that on antiques roadshow one of the ugly eggs that she had kept on her shelf turned out to be a faberge thing cost of which was £1200
