Why this red telephone box is like a biscuit...

The red telephone box at Stainton is in disrepair with crumbling exterior paint on the outside but a rather smooth and FUNKY interior (just like a cream biscuit) with a well stocked library . While we were visiting, a local funkster told us that there were plans afoot to refurbish the outside. We look forward to revisiting as part of the most improved red telephone box awards.

Every visit we make to a red telephone box is sorted and ranked to one simple question. "What is it doing now to support the local community and keep the conversation going?" The top ones are added to our all time league table. The red telephone box at Stainton is VERY FUNKY although the outside means it doesn't make it into the top 5.
