Not exactly a stop button more of a brake and it was during my driving test so not really an emergency either.
got a chance to press an emergency button when I was allowed to press one for a practice emergency at school.
walking through an old scrap yard with a friend saw an old machine with a big red button who could resist, didnt realise it was still attatched to live wires, scarpered before anyone could come to turn it off. It was very loud.
My stop button was untraditional. I was 18 years old driving a 1957 Ford dump truck fully loaded with dirt. I had not yet learned how to downshift going up a hill.
I lost all power and started rolling back down the hill. So instead of a massive accident on this backroad I turned to the ditch. Like a runoff lane it stop. I got start again and made sure all was good.
This NEVER happened again.
